Thermoforming is a manufacturing process where a plastic sheet is heated to a pliable forming temperature, formed to a specific shape in a mold, and trimmed to create a usable product. The sheet, or "film" when referring to thinner gauges and certain material types, is heated in an oven to a high-enough temperature that it can be stretched into or onto a mold and cooled to a finished shape.

A clamshell is a hinged container. They are durable and made of a shaped plastic material. The two ends of a clamshell come together and snap shut, keeping your products safe and secure.

Here at Jay's, we use thermoforming to make a variety of shapes and sizes for all your clamshell packaging needs. We are able to create all different types of closing mechanisms like snaps, self-locking tabs or friction fit. Our most popular type of closure uses our radio frequency heat sealer, making your package tamper proof and prevents package pilferage.

Our clamshells are made in the USA approved by all of the major retailers in the United States.
